A GROUP of urologists and doctors from the United States and Canada is in the Philippines from Feb. 5 to 12 for a free “no needle/no scalpel vasectomy (NSV)” mission.

In Cebu City, the medical mission will be held at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Villa Aznar Road, Urgello St. on Feb. 5, 6 and 12, while on Feb. 7 and 8, it will be held at the Tuburan District Hospital in Tuburan town, Cebu.

On Feb. 11, the team will be in Gallares Hospital, Tagbilaran City, Bohol for the mission.

NSV is a modern vasectomy, which is safe and would only last for about 15 minutes.

The procedure is voluntary, and it is only for those who are interested.

An NSV orientation will be conducted for clients to know the facts about NSV and to address questions including misconceptions.

Medicines will be provided to the clients. They are advised not to do heavy work two to three days after undergoing the procedure, but financial assistance will be extended by the sponsor to the family as income replacement. Pre-registration is needed for the clients’ allocation.

The NSV mission is sponsored by No Scalpel Vasectomy International Inc. (NSVI), which is founded by a Filipino. NSVI has been providing free NSV services since 2001.

For NSV orientation or coordination, one may call Frohnie D. Cagalitan at (032) 416-6084 or email at proqualitylife@gmail.com.

For pre-registration and other information about the mission, one may contact Myrna H. Danuco at (032) 418-8980 or 0922-8230298.
