AN ADVOCACY group, along with concerned government agencies, have again urged drivers to keep box junctions clear to help ease the worsening traffic congestion in Cebu City.
A box junction is a road traffic control measure designed to prevent congestion and gridlock at intersections.
Advocacy group Cebu Road Heroes (CRH) have again helped city traffic enforcers over the weekend in manning traffic in an intersection along N. Escario Street and at the same time educated drivers on the importance of clearing box junctions.
Erring drivers were flagged down and were reminded by enforcers not to block box junctions to prevent gridlocks.
CRH members also handed out flyers about their KIC (Keep Intersections Clear) campaign.
Last March 11, CRH conducted the first KIC campaign in two intersections in the city -- Q5 box junction and Robinson's Galleria box junction. The second campaign was on May 6 along F. Cabahug Street in Kasambagan village.
Go said their group will continue with their campaign to raise awareness about the positive effect of keeping box junctions clear.
Cebu Road Heroes is also in partnership with Sumbongero, SunStar Philippines's group page, that accepts public concerns, including traffic violations. You can also share your concerns and join the group here.
