ONE thing’s for sure: these are far from bite-size.
When it comes to indulging oneself with their guilty gastronomic pleasures—will “bigger” be always “better”? Or perhaps the more interesting question could also be, “can your stomach hold all that food in?”
Take this little trip with me as I present some of the big-sized offerings here in Metro Cebu. All these could pass or Goliath’s packed lunch on a lazy Sunday noon.

Casa Verde’s Big Bang Burger is a whopping burger, 10 inches in diameter. This is one crazy sandwich. The patty weighs in at 500 grams (or more exactly, 1 lb and 1.63 oz, just a little lighter than a standard basketball that weighs in at 1.3 lbs).
It is close to impossible for one person to consume every part of the sandwich, thus sharing is encouraged. But then again, if you think you can take on the burger all by yourself, then it’s up to you.
After the patty hits the grill and is cooked to perfection, it is then laid on the soft (and enormous) burger bun. Then topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and white onions. Of course, you can add your preferred condiments: mustard or ketchup, to taste. And as if this is not enough, the burger comes with hot potato fries right off the fryer. Speaking of fries…
Potato Corner’s Giga-Fries is a big one. Talk about a giga-bite, this whole bucket of flavored fries is not just one lonely man’s companion at the cinema, but is again
perfect for sharing. Although unlike the Big Bang, it is very possible for a single person to finish the serving on the spot—especially if you pair it with your favorite drink. Soda would be perfect. This combo right here has been a tried and tested comfort treat.
Bigby’s Titanic Treat: Some “sweets” round out our story for today. And when we say “sweets,” we put the emphasis on the word taking on its plural form. This thing right here is a total of 30 scoops of ice cream jam packed in a single (big) bowl. Topped with all sorts of toppings and a few cones, complete this killer dessert right here.
In fact, there is a challenge the restaurant holds for its customers up until today. If you and a friend order this treat and you manage to finish it in less than five minutes, then it’s on the house. So with or without the challenge, don’t let the ice cream melt—that is if brain freeze won’t get to you first.
So there you have it, three mega-bites for today that should fill that empty “space” inside you. Happy eating!
