Globe official highlights new services

GLOBE Telecom said it launched a series of programs at the start of the year as part of the company’s thrust to provide relevant and easy-to-use products and services to customers.

Globe Telecom president and chief executive officer Ernest Cu said the programs are their way to accelerate investments to drive growth for its broadband and mobile business.

“This is one way of responding to the challenge before us to transform the company from being a utility company into a more service-oriented and customer-focused organization,” Cu said in a press briefing during Globe’s Annual Stockholders Meeting last Tuesday at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila.

Among the services Globe launched this year is the My Super Plan, which the company described as the first and only personalized postpaid plan. The package allows customers to customize their mobile plans based on their needs.

Customers in charge

Globe’s chief marketing officer Menchi Orlina said they are now putting their postpaid customers in charge. They can now design the plan that suits their needs and budget while enjoying unmetered calling, texting and Web browsing.

“Many people shy away from postpaid because they don’t want the long term-commitment. My Super Plan changes all that. You only pay for what you need and get the flexibility to change your plan as often as every month,” she said.

My Super Plans include services like My Super Txt, My Duo, My Super Duo, My Super Unli and My Super Surf at affordable rates.

Globe’s My Super Txt has the text all-you-can plan for P349 per month. The My Super Duo, which allows calls to any mobile and landline numbers, is at P599 a month. Internet users can explore the web through My Super surf at plan of P1,200 a month.

Other plans include My Duo, which allows consumers to make boundless calls to landlines for only P450 per month, and My Super Unli, which enables customers to call mobile phones and text at P599 a month.

Load in buses

Aside from the My Super Plan, Globe also launched the P10 Tingi Load card for Globe, Globe Tattoo and Touch Mobile (TM) subscribers. This “tingi” load is available on buses, jeepneys, FXs, street vendors, train stations and selected restaurants.

To keep its subscribers loyal, Globe also launched My Rewards, My Globe and TM Astig Rewards, programs that offer a wide range of incentives to their 25 million subscribers.

Among the services Globe launched in the mobile business last year were the AstigTxt10, the lowest unlimited SMS offer in the market; Super Unli, which offers unlimited intra-network calling and texting; and ImmortalCall+, a bucket call and text service with no expiry date.

The firm’s mobile revenues for 2009 slid to P53.3 billion from P55.4 billion in 2008. Globe, however, said its mobile business maintained high profit margins at 65 percent.

Globe reported 23.2 million mobile subscribers last year.
