GOOGLE officials will be in Cebu on Friday to talk about innovation in a forum at the University of the Philippines- Visayas Cebu College.
The forum, “Inspiring Innovation: the Google Way,” will have as lead speakers Google developer relations technical program manager Christine Songco and Google Japan software engineer Dan de Lima.

The whole-day event will start with talks in the morning that will feature developments in open source, Google maps and their applications.
In the afternoon, the Developers Connect (DevCon) team will host a hackathon, an event where participants code together, focusing on Google Apps.
The DevCon team will give an award to the best Google application.
Attendance to the innovation forum event is free. Those interested to join are asked to call 232-4995 to reserve slots.
The forum is organized by Google, UP Cebu Department of Science and Technology Business Incubator , GTUG – Cebu, Developers Connect (DevCon), Philippine Emerging Start-Ups Open, Brain Gain Network and the Ayala Technology Business Incubator (AyalaTBI).
Organizers said the innovation forum is one of the regular tech forums that AyalaTBI holds in Makati and regional centers in the country with partners since 2007.
