Hotel to expand services in Cebu

WITH more and more tourists from the different regions and neighboring countries visiting Cebu, one of the hotels in the city is targeting the expansion of its services this year.

In a press conference yesterday, Jan Kierulf, president and chief executive officer of Gran Prix Hotels and Suites, said the company will be building 100 more rooms for 2010 in the uptown area.

“Travelling is already a lifestyle, it has become usual and we are bound to travel. This (expansion) is to continue our commitment to provide seamless travel to our customers,” said Kierulf.

Kierulf told reporters that they are planning to build their next property in Mactan.

Asked why they chose to expand in Cebu, Kierulf said the province has become a number one destination and vacation area.

“And if we were to make expansion, we will invest heavily on a proven destination, a destination that is in the worldwide market,” he said.
Grand Prix Hotel and Suites is the first hotel of the Grand Prix chain in the Visayas. It was established in August 2008 and was formerly called Grand Prix Econotel Cebu.

Kierulf said that the hotel has 40 rooms, which includes standard, deluxe, family and suite room with prices ranging from P1,500 to P3,000 per person.

As for the suites, Kierulf said they offer a package that includes breakfast, welcome drink, free airport pick up or drop, pier-hotel taxi refund, free laundry and pressing service, 15-minute massage and early check-in and late check-out of up to four in the afternoon.

Aside from Cebu, Grand Prix has branches in Malate, Pasay City, Quezon City, Tarlac City and Boracay.
