Hyatt brand returns to Macau with property on Cotai strip

HYATT Hotels and Resorts recently unveiled the Grand Hyatt Macau (GHM) at the Cotai strip in the City of Dreams development, marking the return of the Hyatt brand of accommodations to this colorful city.

The 791-guestroom hotel will offer possibilities for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (Mice), with its 15 individual function areas spanning more than 968,000 square feet (90,000 square meters).

“We feel Grand Hyatt Macau reflects the energy and exciting cultural fusion that makes this former Portuguese colony a unique, dynamic destination for individual leisure travelers and Mice groups,” says general manager Paul Kwok. “Given the sheer scale, variety and unique nature of its event venues, alongside the world-class entertainment available at the City of Dreams, Grand Hyatt Macau is a truly integrated destination, and we feel confident that it will be a huge attraction to Mice organizers,” Kwok said.

All guestrooms provide views of the Pearl River or the Cotai Strip. The Grand Tower has 424 rooms and suites featuring photographic art of Macau. The premium Grand Club Tower, on the other hand, showcases nature-inspired artwork in its 367 rooms and suites. According to the company, guestrooms are equipped with the latest technology, including bedside lighting and curtain controls, and an AV control panel that transmits data from an iPod, camera or laptop through two 40-inch LCD TVs.

The hotel’s second level is entirely dedicated to event space.

The pillar-less Grand Ballroom has a 26-foot ceiling, the highest in Macau without chandeliers, and covers an area of more than 23,000 square feet. It can seat up to 2,500 guests theatre-style and 1,500 for a banquet function.

The Pool Deck and the adjacent Poolside on Level 3 are ideal al fresco locations. The property adds, the Pool Deck is the largest outdoor event venue in Macau and features a water lounge, eight private VIP cabanas, and landscaped gardens.
