Back to back fireworks on Sinulog weekend at SM

SINULOG 2012 comes even bigger and better as SM City Cebu brings back to back fireworks shows on Jan. 14 and 15.
Together with Pyroworks and the Sinulog Foundation, SM City Cebu will stage the 4th Sinulog Pyrofest competition on Jan. 14 beginning at 8 p.m. fronting The Northwing.

Eight competitors from all over the country will participate in the competition. First prize winner will bring home P150,000, while second and third placers will win P125,000 and P100,000 respectively. Non-winning teams will also receive P50,000 each.
The entries will be judged according to the fireworks’ beauty, style, timing, and audience impact. A demo show by Pyroworks International, Inc. will happen at the end of the competition.
Head on straight to SM City Cebu on Jan. 15 for the Pyrospectacular, a full pyromusical display by Pyroworks International with soundtracks from Mission Impossible, LFMAO, Sinulog beats, Michael Buble, and Romeo & Juliet. Pyrospectacular begins at 9 p.m. fronting The Northwing. Pyrospectacular is also supported by Apple One, Salon de Rose, and Rose Pharmacy.

Cebu! featuring the works of fashion designers Arcy Gayatin and Philip Tampus, the Una Cebu Car of furniture designer Clayton Tugonon, home accessories and handbags by Grace Alberio Guinefolleau, and a photo exhibit by the Images Camera Club. Meet and greet Kapamilya young star Daniel Padilla on Jan. 15, 4 p.m. at the Event Centre. He is best known for his role as Daniel in “Gimik 2010” and as Patrick Rivero in “Growing Up.” Daniel Padilla is the son of actor Rommel Padilla and Karla Ford.
SM Supermalls celebrate the flavors of Philippine regional cuisine with its My City My SM My Cuisine campaign. This SM mall-wide culinary roadshow will stop at SM City Cebu to feature personalities who play important roles in the rich food tradition and industry of Cebu.
Moreover, an open category cooking contest featuring two signature recipes from Cebu will be held on Jan. 17, 2012 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Event Centre.
The cookfest will highlight Cebu’s delicacies such as dried mangoes or masareal (peanut snack) and “Humba” (Braised Pork Belly). Two winners will be chosen, one for the entrée and one for the dessert. In the dessert category, participants are expected to make any dessert with dried mangoes or masareal as main ingredients. At 5:30 p.m., SM City Cebu will launch the My City My SM My Cuisine featuring treasured heirloom recipes of two personalities who come from prominent families in Cebu.
Sinulog Foundation will formally award the winners of the Sinulog photo and video documentary contest on Jan. 28, 4 p.m. in SM Cinema 2.
