HERE we go again. It’s the month of February and you must be racking your brain for good dating ideas to try out with your partner. Dinner? Movies? Sure, those are fine. But here’s a list that might tease you a bit to explore your options more.

Pick a good show. The few days before, during or after Valentine’s Day will surely have numerous events all around the city. From concerts to art exhibits, try to scout for one that you and your special someone might actually enjoy. Follow this up with a romantic dinner, and you should be set.

Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.

Surprise your date. Why not? Be creative. From gifts your loved one would never think she’d get around this time of year, to maybe a plane ticket you booked ahead of time or the itinerary for a trip both of you have always wanted. Even with the flowers and the sweets, you might want to go with the unconventional. For example, red roses may have been done to death already. Just stay away from the chrysanthemums, though, unless she’s got that gothic thing going on and she actually likes those.

Go on a road trip. Drive to places where you have had significant memories together. You can end the day—and pray for a starry night—by hiking up a hill or finding a rooftop or any other place where you feel you will be able to enjoy your privacy most. Just do not forget some snacks and a blanket to keep yourselves warm.

Take sweet shoreline walks. Walk on the beach until the sun goes down. Of course, you do not have to limit yourselves to that. Celebrate the happy hours of the day, while the sun is up, by dipping into the cool waters together. A little picnic pack would help make everything perfect.

Stay inside and away from it all. Stay indoors and still get as much fun as you can anywhere else. Say, prepare for a movie marathon together while you make your own snacks. Enjoy the feeling of being secluded from the outside world even just for a day.

Have a fun pictorial. You don’t have to be a pro photographer to enjoy a photo shoot. Grab a camera, set a theme, and just have fun as you take each other’s picture! Always fancied yourselves as couture models? Well then, here’s your chance. Don’t worry about the lighting, the angles, and all the technical stuff. Keep it light and casual. After all, it is a “fun pictorial.” Plus, you’ll have new photos to put on Facebook by the end of the day!

Show off your kitchen skills. Gone are the days when going out on a date meant “going out to eat.” The two of you can simply stay in and prepare your own culinary masterpiece! List down the ingredients you will need, then divide the tasks. Who chops? Who cooks? Who washes the plates? This kind of date can also be a good way of checking how well you and your partner work together.

Rest and rejuvenate. Too burned out to go on a date? Uh-oh. Perhaps you and your loved one should visit a spa and have an evening of nothing but rest and relaxation. There are some spas in Cebu that offer packages for couples. You can get a massage together or have a private steam room and the like. Treat yourselves to some much deserved pampering. Don’t let the stress get to you because that just might affect your relationship in the long run.
Happy hearts day!
