Dingdong-Marian’s ‘My Beloved’ starts today

GMA Network will launch its newest drama series, My Beloved, today, replacing Survivor Philippines.

Leading the cast are Metro Manila Film Fest 2011 Best Actor Dingdong Dantes as Benjie/Arlan, an angel of death known as “sundo” who takes on a human form to save the life of his beloved woman, and Primetime Queen Marian Rivera as Sharina, the beautiful mortal who falls in love with a fallen angel.

This is the real-life couple’s fifth collaboration with the network after Marimar, Dyesebel, Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang and Endless Love.

In the cast are veteran Nova Villa as Lola Inggay, Benjie’s drunkard grandmother who is a jueteng collector; Paolo Contis as Benjie’s childhood friend and leader of their gang, Katrina Halili as Benjie’s loyal girlfriend; Marky Lopez as Benjie’s most trusted ally; and Chanda Romero as Sharina and Monica’s authoritarian aunt who makes their lives a living hell. 

Also in the cast are the tandems of Jennica Garcia and Carl Guevarra, and Tween stars Louise delos Reyes and Alden Richards. Playing Sharina’s ardent suitor is Mikael Daez.

When Sharina’s father dies, she and younger sister Monica must live and work under the strict rules of their aunt Elsa and her daughter Ginella.

Rio Locsin plays Lily, a kind-hearted teacher, who gives Sharina her ancestral house when she dies. Sharina sees Lily’s painting of a man in the house and reads Lily’s diary of her encounter with a man who saved her from an accident and with whom she fell in love.

Sharina meets an accident and the mystifying being in the painting. The man saves her from death, and Sharina kisses him before he disappears.

In the realm of angels, no angel of death can fall in love with a human being. Arlan freely chose to give up his immortal state when he kissed Sharina back. (PR)
