Tomorrow’s red-letter happening is the unveiling of the new logo, and the preview of the new furniture collection of Heritage Muebles Mirabile Export Inc. during a cocktail party at its premises in Soong, Mactan. The company celebrates 18 years of world class craftsmanship.
Coming up on May 23-25 is the next session of Delf (Diplome d etudes en langue Francaise), an evaluative exam for one’s level in French, to be held at Alliance Francaise de Cebu at the QC Pavilion in Gorordo Ave. Students who have successfully taken the Delf exam last February were honored during a special recognition ceremony where they were given the Official French Diploma.
The latest venture of Aboitizland Inc. is Priveya Hills, a prime residential development on a rolling terrain in Bacayan, a little further on from the Talamban area. Holding court during the unveiling affair at the Oakridge Pavilion was company president Andoni Aboitiz who divulged that the project took all of 20 years to put together. Yes, that is how meticulous the developer was just to ensure that Priveya Hills would come to mean prime, private and privileged.

It is always something new for Cebu visitors when they get the experience of dining in a restaurant on stilts in Cao-oy, Sta. Rosa island. It is both a pleasure and a challenge. The pleasure is in the fresh seafood offered - fresh as in wiggling live.
The challenge is in getting to the stairs of the resto from the pumpboat. Timing is the name of the game - one has to be in step with the waves so as not to fall in the water. For Canada balikbayans Jesse Suico and wife Linda Yared, Daisy Yared and husband Joseph Cach, and Seattle-based Grace Yared, it was a one-of-a-kind experience.
Ethel Timbol (former society editor of Manila Bulletin) found the Cao-oy experience a thrill. Also new for her was dining in Abaseria, a homey restaurant cum gift shop.
This was when she had a dinner date with media friends. Ethel was in town for a visit with dear friend Greg Lerma who is an artist at heart and himself an accomplished chef.
