IT TOOK almost a year to conceptualize and implement the long-term tourism program of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Turismo Sugbo, initiated by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, in tandem with CCCI Tourism (led by President Prudencio Gesta), Academe and LGUs. The Memo of Agreement was signed recently by the proponents.
The first phase involves 12 municipalities, eight colleges and universities with their corresponding CCCI mentors.
Turismo Sugbu conducted a “needs assessment and immersion program in tourism basic services” (from May 21-June 15) which will be the bases of creative tourism packages and branding.
The output will be presented during the Tourism Congress on June 28 at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC). The photos show the schools with Gov. Gwen Garcia, CCCI president Prudencio Gesta, Board Members Sybico and Calderon.
