Once again, Quota International of Cebu did it! Yes, its fundraising Santacruzan last May was another big success, thanks to its hardworking members led by the president Joy Pesquera who has now handed over the post to Ma. Victoria Calderon. Kudos too to Santacruzan over-all chairperson Malu Veloso who worked hard for the project. Proceeds of the fundraising have been earmarked for job sourcing opportunities for the hearing-impaired; maintenance of the Sawang Calero, Guba and San Jose Day Care Centers and a feeding program for its students as well as salaries for its workers; medical missions to distressed communities; and co-sponsorship of Shatter Silence which is a gathering of a thousand or so hearing-impaired students.
By the way, the club had its induction affair at the Casino Español some weeks ago with Quota District 41 Gov. Emilie Simon as inducting officer. Rep. Cynthia Villar of the Quota Club of Las Piñas gave the inspirational message.

An out-of-town interlude was how a group of young-at-hearts ended their summer.
College buddies in the sixties Jingboy Yuvienco, Tonyboy Rodriguez, Ferdie Jakosalem, Julius Neri and Gabby Leyson took time out to bond with each other on a weekend trip to Bohol. It proved to be a very exhilarating adventure... they got a discourse on honey bees at the Bohol Bee Farm, experienced the night river cruise at Loboc with the Loboc Choir rendering songs somewhere along the way, and later in the night, discovered the pulsating action at Alona Beach.
