ONE of the country’s premier retail establishments will soon open a store in the guitar capital of the Philippines.
Metro Department Store and Supermarket is set to rise at the heart of Mactan’s urban center, along Mantawe Road in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.
Chief operating officer Edward Ponce describes Metro as a compact mall – a hybrid of a supermarket and a department store, with the addition of a food area in a three-storey building.
“It’s an exciting store to serve the community,” he tells the members of the press at the Metro Lapu-Lapu’s groundbreaking ceremony, which kicked off the store’s construction. “It will also create and promote livelihood through job opportunities.”
Already the number one store in Cebu, Metro’s vision is to become a world-class retail company with the mission to provide quality products, quality service, and a clean shopping environment, anchored on its philosophy of customer centeredness. Its retail offerings include grocery, apparel, jewelry, accessories, appliances, furniture, food outlets, pharmacy and many more.
Metro Lapu-Lapu will be the 13th outlet in the successful chain of stores, which include Metro Colon, Super Metro Mandaue, Metro Ayala Center, Metro Market Naga and Metro Plaza Naga in Cebu; and Metro Hi-Per in Leyte, Metro Legazpi in Bicol, Metro Lucena in Quezon, Metro Market! Market! In Taguig, Metro Marquee in Pampanga, and Metro Market Binondo. The 12TH store in Alabang Town Center, will open next month.
Metro is owned and operated by Vicsal Development Corp. Metro Lapu-Lapu will open its doors by the second quarter of next year. (PST)
