SUN SAVINGS Bank had its formal inauguration one lovely Wednesday afternoon at the
ground floor of Rosalie Bldg. at the Gaisano Grand Fiesta Mall in Tabunok, Talisay.
On the frontline was bank president and chief executive officer Francisco A. Dizon, a veteran in the banking industry with extensive experience in consumer, commercial and investment banking, having previously been chairman of the Philippine National Bank; president/chief executive officer of Rizal Banking Corp.; and president/chief executive officer of Asian Bank Corp./AB Capital Investment Corp. His team includes Augusto S. Gonzalez (an expert in investment banking and corporate treasury operations) who serves as treasurer of the bank, branch operations manager Melvin
Cañedo and his driven and enthusiastic staff.
The bank’s vision is to offer value for money financial services to consumers and small and medium scale industries through the effective use of technology.
Information technology will be a major differentiator for Sun Savings. This will involve significant investments in software and hardware that will enable the bank to have an Internet banking platform integrated with the computerized main banking platform.
Sun Savings will also join the BancNet ATM network to enable its customers to have nationwide access to the more than 10,000 ATMs available in the country today.
The bank has also been accredited by the Department of Education (Deped) for granting of salary loans to Deped employees and teachers under the Deped’s Automatic Payroll Deductions System.
Sun Savings Bank aims to open one to two branches a year over the next five years in Cebu and possibly the neighboring provinces.
