WITH the proliferation of posh hotels, especially restaurants and tropical beach resorts in our bustling island, the need for a world-class culinary and hotel management training center became imperative.
So the entry of International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) was perfectly timed! The Cebu campus opened recently at the ground floor of the Synergis IT Center, F. Cabahug St., Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City, to a capacity crowd of not only chef-wannabes, but actual chefs who wanted to further sharpen their culinary skills.
Founded by veteran hotelier Hansjorg Schallenberg and chef Norbert Gandler, the school, since 2002, has been developed and managed by men and women who are top professionals in their chosen field. Together, they bring to the classroom the tenets and theories with practical hands-on experience to prepare students for a rewarding career in this industry.
ISCAHM prides itself in producing top-notch chefs in the area of culinary and pastry arts, and hotel management, by having a faculty roster of hotel executives, and executive and pastry chefs of five-star international hotel chains and cruise liners.
With such impeccable credentials, graduates have had no difficulty securing employment here and abroad.
As to facilities, ISCAHM Cebu campus offers classrooms, world-class hot and cold kitchens, a pastry kitchen, walk-in freezers and chillers, and a dining room. It is also equipped with classroom set-ups for front desk hotel operations, bartending and housekeeping services.
