CHARLES Andrew Neri and Marianne Avenido took their marriage vows before Fr. Hugh O’Donaghue C.Ss.R and Fr. Glen Tito Pascual C.Ss.R. during afternoon rites at the Redemptorist Parish Church. He is the son of Gabriel and Emily Anne (Limtong) Neri, while she is the daughter of Marciano and Anita Avenido.

First-time parents Duke (he is the mayor of Liloan) and Christina (Garcia) Frasco celebrated the baptism of their little princess Sofia Christina with a dinner party at the Marco Polo Plaza. Helping them welcome their guests were the proud grandmas - Gov. Gwen Garcia and Mrs. Cynthia Frasco who jetted in from California for the occasion.

The baptismal ceremony was held earlier in the afternoon at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. Leading the list of ninongs were Vice President Jejomar C. Binay, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, former senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and Christina’s brod Paolo. The others were Aljew Frasco, Don Gerardo Frasco Christopher McKowen, Jon Mikel Antunez, James McFadden and Scott Georgetti.

The ninangs included Duke’s sis Margarita Frasco, Christina’s sis Carissa Aznar Beane, sis-in-law Michelle Garcia, Luisa Frasco Fernandez, Carla McKowen, Melanie Codilla, Kate Anzani, Agnes Huettel and lady lawyers Ann Rose Macias, Mary Diana Mamaril, Erika Nepomuceno, Shereen Pamintuan, Leah Quesada and Mariana Santos.

Another baptismal celebration was an intimate lunch affair at the Cebu Country Club hosted by lawyer Jess Anthony Garcia and wife Leslie who welcomed another girl to their fold. Louisa Beatrice is their third child and a very welcome addition to Bianca and Jesse. The baptismal sponsors were Jayjay Neri, Dr. Jerald Garcia, Candice Neri, Dr. Clive Fermin, Grace Avanzado, Geraldine Benitez, Karen Rodriguez, Patricia Ozaraga, Sheila Apawan, Cheryl Ballreich, Sheila Monsanto and Eunice Orge.

Monina Ouano and daughter Menchu have opened Mara Salon, a full-service beauty parlor at the lower ground floor of Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Lahug. Opening day celebration was a cocktail affair at the Treff Bar.

Back from a month-long European holiday are Rudy and Tusing Perez who made Heidelberg, Germany, their home base. That is where their daughter Angela and husband Paul Brown live. Together with the young couple, they visited the major European cities. Most
memorable for them was the interlude in Paris and Rome.

The loving family of the late Engr. Go Ching Hai led by wife Beling, marked his first death anniversary with Holy Mass at the Sacred Heart Chapel. A lunch reception followed at the Sacred Heart Center.

The father-and-son culinary team of Gene and Gino Gonzalez are on top of the ongoing foodfest called “Culinary Impressions of China” at Cafe Marco of Marco Polo Plaza. The food promo is on until Oct. 7.
