Isabella, nervous doing rape scene-A A +A
Friday, October 5, 2012
SHE was known as the bubbly and cheerful young girl in the popular GMA sitcom Dadidodu and her name, Duday, surely rings a bell to. Isabella De Leon played Vic Sotto’s youngest daughter in the comedy show.
And now, the Duday we once loved is all grown-up and mature, and so are her roles.
Just like her character in the upcoming made-for-TV film Tinig: The True-to-Life Story of “Asia’s Diva” Dulce. Isabella plays the role of the young Dulce who was raped by her manager (played by John Arcilla) when she was 14 years old in her journey to pursue her dream to become a singer.
According to the young actress, it’s the first time she has done rape scene. “I’m a little nervous since it’s my first time to portray such a role. But I trust that it will turn out good. I trust Tito John Arcilla and the rest of the CBN Asia production team,” admits Isabella.
Isabella also shared that portraying Dulce was no joke and that she spent time studying the character quite well.
“I really stretched my vocal chords because Tita Dulce is an operatic singer. I tried my very best because my music genre is pop rock.
I’m hands down to Tita Dulce’s singing prowess. Acting-wise, I consulted my psychology teacher and asked her what a 14-year-old feels after such traumatic events in her life. I also did some research on her biography and most importantly, I thoroughly read and internalized the script. I tried my best to bring justice to the role.”
Watch Tinig on Oct. 7, at 10:30 p.m. on GMAs Sunday Night Box Office. Directed by Derrek Adapon and written by Icko Gonzalez, Tinig is produced by CBN Asia, producer of the daily inspirational show The 700 Club Asia. (PR)
