BonChon Chicken Craze hits Cebu

THE famed Cebuano palate has given whole-hearted approval to BonChon Chicken, as seen in the long lines of excited customers that greeted its grand opening last Oct. 1 in The Terraces, Ayala Center.
BonChon, meaning “original village” in Korean, is the crispy chicken sensation raved about globally. It serves Korean fried chicken that’s super crispy yet light and not greasy, with hot moist juicy meat, and sauced with its addicting soy garlic or spicy glaze.
From its original home in Seoul, BonChon opened branches in New York where its crispy chicken secret earned major media and industry accolades, as well as raves from discriminate diners. Its similar success in other US cities such as San Francisco, Boston, Virginia, and New Jersey set the stage for the restaurant chain’s international expansion in Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, Singapore – and now, in Cebu City.
The vision of BonChon Chicken Philippines is to serve as many Filipinos as possible, with BonChon in every key city nationwide.
“Opening BonChon’s very first Visayas branch brings this dream one step closer. Cebu City is known to be one of the best food destinations in the country, and Cebuanos for their sophisticated tastes, and we are proud to be part of the dynamic food culture of this beautiful city. We are looking forward to offer something new to Cebuanos, the same crispy chicken that has made its mark in the international market,” says Scott Tan, managing director of BonChon Chicken Philippines.
Steven Yu of Avalon Scion Food Corp., the Cebu franchise of the global brand, says, “We are proud to be instrumental in bringing the global BonChon Chicken phenomenon–the original crispy chicken secret raved about internationally–to the premier city of Cebu.”
