IT’S 2013 with the Year of the Water Snake waiting to take its turn on Feb. 10. The year 2012 was good for many, and a little bit disappointing or sad for others. But, at the end of the day, what matters is how we live our lives! The Snake is intuitive, graceful, refined and does not fluster easily; works modestly; is acute, aware and achievement-oriented. These are some positive traits which we can deal with. The color
of the year is emerald green, one of my favorites.

The 20th anniversary of Kapwa Ko, Mahala Ko had a very positive note. Its projects were done according to plan and the support of the community had been overwhelming!
Kapwa president Margot Osmeña hopes that 2013 will be equally fruitful and that Kapwa will continue to nurture the cancer-stricken children.

The American Chamber of Commerce and Industry is beefing up its Education Committee in 2013 to draw a more sustainable industry-academe linkage. The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2013 has for its theme “Power up Global Business” as Cebu positions itself as the catalyst of tiger economy. The tourism committee adopts the thrust “power-up global tourism.” Power-lady Melanie Ng heads the CBM power team. On the travel front, Korean Air ended 2012 with a masquerade dinner at the Quest Hotel.
The official launching of the 27th “Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry” conference will be held at the Marriott Hotel today, Jan. 8, at 5 p.m.
It will be hosted by the CCCI and will led by president Prudencio Gesta and conference chairman Joe Ng. With the theme “Asia Pacific: Catalyst to Global Recovery,” the international assemblage is slated on March 14-15, at the Radisson Blu.
