AS IN past celebrations, the Pista Senyor celebration will be deluged with beautiful faces—male and female, young and old, light and heavy—for various purposes, aside from paying homage to the Holy Child. These faces can be seen in the streets, in malls and department stores, restaurants, hotels, entertainment joints, spas—everywhere.
On Sunday, during the Sinulog grand parade, more beautiful faces will be around especially among the dancing contingents and onboard beautifully decorated floats.
Among these faces is the newest endorser of Psalmstre Enterprises, the maker of the original New Placenta (composed of soap, toner, day and night cream and lotion which are now in advanced formula), in the person of 2012 Miss Earth-Air Stephany Stefanowitz, who will be escorted by Mr. Manhunt Int’l. 2012 June Macasaet.
Stephany’s presence in the Sinulog is part of the nationwide Faces of Beauty brand campaign that also includes yesterday’s visit to Villasis, Pangasinan and in the Panagbenga Festival in Baguio on Feb. 24.

Another beautiful face to grace the grand parade is that of Cebu’s very own and recently crowned Miss Tourism International. Rizzini Alexis Gomez who will be onboard the Mutya ng Pilipinas float earlier in the day and will be the lead dancer in the parade’s finale later in the evening.
Rizzini recently talked with Cebu media at Formo Resto-Lounge together with Mutya organizers Pete Dacuycuy and Jefferson Tan and narrated how she fought homesickness on New Year’s Eve (the day the contest was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and used her past beauty contest experiences and trainings to grab the crown and title, the country’s second after Maria Esperanza in 2000).
She expressed her gratitude to Cebuano designers Cary Santiago, Philip Tampos, Edwin Alba, Dexter Alazas, Dino Lloren and Danny Booc who provided her wardrobe in the contest. She’ll soon be in the thick of tourism promotion not only of the country but also of others starting off with Malaysia.
The Mutya organizers disclosed that they have started talks with Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortez for a possible tie up for the staging of the Mutya grand coronation in the city this year.

Pop princess Sarah Geronimo was in town for her pre-Sinulog show at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. Sarah is an endorser of Belo Essentials which arranged a luncheon press conference with the Cebu media a day before her concert.
Aside from Sarah, Cebu marketing manager Lerma Mendoza appeared to be the perfect endorser of the company’s product because of her glowing skin, something which made the female lifestyle and entertainment scribes turn green with envy.
The products boast of an enhanced packaging and new and improved whitening technology.

GMA 7’s newest and reportedly the biggest epic teleserye Indio has just started this week. It is top billed by Sen. Bong Revilla (with the now controversial Starstruck V grand winner Sarah Lahbati in a fantasy role).
The Kapuso network announced with pride that the cast of the new teleserye will be the main attraction in the GMA 7 float in the Sinulog grand parade on Sunday.

This year’s Miss Cebu was chosen and crowned last Wednesday at the Pacific grand ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. Prior to that, the 12 beautiful ladies strut on the runway in a pre-pageant event at the Ayala Center Cebu activity center.
They wore fun wear creations by Roni Yu, Mique Yapching, Rei Escario and Bree Esplanada (later adjudged as Best Fun Wear Designer). That early, three ladies already grabbed the attention of the public by winning three special awards, namely: Miss Gems & Designs (Jehanne Frances Dy), Best in Fun Wear (Patricia Ann Estuart) and Miss PLDT (Maria Gigante).
The pre-pageant judges were Miss Cebu production chairman and Cebu City Tourism Commissioner Philip Rodriguez, Miss Cebu 2009 Kris Tiffany Janson and PLDT Community Relations Head Evelyn del Rosario who expressed delight upon hearing that we agreed with their choice for the Miss PLDT honor.
