‘Human Planet’ launching today-A A +A
Friday, January 18, 2013
THIS January, GMA News TV launches Human Planet—a breathtaking eight-part blockbuster celebrating the complex, profound and sometimes challenging relationship between humankind and nature produced by the BBC.
From the frozen Arctic to steamy rainforests, from tiny islands in vast oceans to parched deserts, people have found remarkable ways to adapt and survive in the harshest environments imaginable. We’ve done this by harnessing our immense courage and ingenuity; learning to live with and utilize the other creatures that share these wild places.
BBC’s Human Planet weaves together 80 inspiring stories, many never before told on television, set to a globally-influenced soundtrack by award-winning composer Nitin Sawhney.
Each episode focuses on a particular habitat and reveals how its people have created astonishing solutions. At the end of the series, Human Planet visits the urban jungle, where most of us now live, and discovers why the connection between humanity and nature here is the most vital of all.
To be narrated in Filipino by award-winning documentarist Kara David, the documentary airs every Saturday at 10 p.m., starting Jan. 19, on GMA News TV Channel 11. (PR)
