WE truly look up to the ladies of the Zonta Club of Cebu 2 for the multifarious community—based activities they are involved in. Recently, they inducted more than twenty members of the 4K Ladies of Barangay Alang-alang in Mandaue, at the Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant at Bridges Mall.

The ladies came in full force and were quite enthusiastic, being part of a support group, for their various livelihood projects. Livewire Zontian for this venture is dedicated Mildred Simolde, who was inducting officer, with the infectious rah-rah of her fellow members. Why, the ladies can hardly wait to try their hand at entrepreneurship!
GIFT. The Angel Society of Cebu had a gift-giving activity for the orphans of the Franciscan Sisters of Guadalupe. Among those in the photo are the kids wearing Santa Claus hats. In the third row (seated from, left) are Angel members Ester Monteclaro, Linda To, Angel Society president Baby Raya, Sister Jessie Ann, Ely Carloman and Donna Diamante. Back row (starting fourth from left) Angel members Rowena Mayol, Emma Canen and Flora Duran who are with the other kids in their festive gear.
The occasion also afforded madam president, Myrna Tan, to present a special award to an exemplary member for her cooperation and contribution. Our congratulations goes to Zontian Elena Young.
Still another woman of distinction is the newly inducted and elected district governor of Toastmasters International, District 75, is Zontian Grace Paras, who has a Herculean task ahead, leading more than 150 clubs in her district. But we know Grace only too well as a relentless go-getter and goal-oriented lady. She’ll not only bring home the crown, but the throne as well, huh, Grace?
Each year, the members of the Angel Society of Cebu make it their advocacy to celebrate the season of giving and sharing with the orphans of the Franciscan Sisters of Guadalupe, whose ages range from two years to 16 years.
For a change of venue, instead of holding the feast at the orphanage, the kids trekked to the compound of the To family in Talamban, courtesy of member Linda Chiong-To.
Linda had so thoughtfully and artfully decorated her “garage” with a “feasty” backdrop, complete with buntings and party tables. Being the compleat hostess, she even organized lively games with prizes and songs!
A fun time was had by all: kids, members, Sisters of the Orphanage. We graciously thank the To family for this magnanimous gesture!
