THE Cebu Institute of Technology – University Human Resource Department headed by Estela L. Lizares and her staff opened the Child Care Center last Feb. 13, 2013.
Operating guided with the slogan “Let’s Play, Learn and Grow Together,” the center will now be teeming with children enrolled in its Elementary Department whose parents or guardians are employees of CIT University. These children can stay in the center, instead of their parents’ respective offices, for free during their vacant period. This concept not only increases the productivity of the parents or guardians at work but also takes good care of their children.
The Child Care Center is fully air-conditioned and equipped with school and entertainment materials that the children can use to play, paint, draw, do their assignments, watch movies on a 42-inch LED television. Lockers for their things are also provided for each child, who will be under the supervision of our trained, trusted, and child-oriented non-academic scholars and HR Assistants.
In his speech during the opening, CIT-U vice president for administration John Gregory B. Escario encouraged everyone to avail themselves of this program since it will be “beneficial both for the parents and the school.”
Also present during the ceremony were MIS and SPS Director Engr. Bernard Nicolas Villamor, vice president for Academic Affairs Atty. Corazon Evangelista- Valencia, Deans, department chairpersons and heads, the faculty and administrative employees, and of course their children. Located at the quadrangle, the Child Care Center opens from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays to Fridays and 8 a.m.to 12 noon every Saturday.
