Ayala Center Cebu celebrates Women's Month

AYALA Center Cebu is joining the festivities of Women’s Month with a mall-wide, month-long campaign. I Am Woman. celebrates womanhood and achievements.

March 8, officially declared as the International Women’s Day, sees the launching of two exhibits. I Am Woman. I Am Empowered. is a photo exhibit of Cebuanas who are iconic in their respective fields. The exhibit runs until March 18.

I Am Woman. I Inspire. is in partnership with Quota International of Cebu, Rotary Club of Gloria Maris, ICanServe Foundation, Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente, Zonta Club of Cebu I, Zonta Club of Cebu II, One Billion Rising and JCI Zugbuana. These organizations will be showcasing women who exemplify the thrust of their organization in a multi-media exhibit lasting until March 23.

Capping off the day’s festivities is I Am Woman. I Celebrate., a concert for women featuring Bossa Nova Queen Sitti. The concert will be held at the Activity Center.

Earlier in the month, Ayala Center Cebu also launched I Am Woman. I Am Aware., a display of various women of substance; and I Am Woman. I Am Heard., an online photo promotion of women and their different characteristics.

A booth for is currently set up at Paseo Marina, and mall goers are invited to pose for a photo with a sign describing themselves.

Satellite stations will also be traveling around various colleges and universities, for students to take part in the campaign.

According to Ayala Center Cebu’s marketing manager Janice Parreno, it’s high time for the mall to spark a campaign for Women’s Month.

“We are a medium for these kinds of campaigns, and because of that, we are always willing to provide support and participate in government initiatives,” she says. (PST)
