Unveiled

SOME things are better kept hidden under covers. Some things are best unveiled.
Just like how it perfectly figured for a mesmerizing collection of bridal outfits for all senses to admire. It all happened one cool night at the Marriott Hotel Cebu, on March 9.
Thirteen designers came together to prove that such a number, otherwise believed to be a fateful one, can pave the way to a compelling parade of fashion ingenuity, grippingly married to some romantic ideals.
The show was entitled “Unveiled” while running the tagline “Marry me at Marriott Bridal and Event Fair.” More than quite fittingly, a bridal banquet was set up all the while clearing a view for various renditions of bridal gowns worn by lovely models sashaying before everyone’s style-hungry eyes.
The Vintage Collection came out first. Protacio Empaces proposed a bustier that glittered in sure areas. Jun Escario came up with a strapless number with intricate details and ruffles. Anthony Romoff had an unfussy corset gown glowing with a subtle blue hint. Marichu Tan concocted a high neck frock studded enough to exude demure elegance.
Humberto Villegas offered a ball gown with embellishments creating unexpected wonders at the back. Bernardo Flores bid an ensemble with butterfly sleeves and appliqués trailing through the neck’s rear. Ren Manabat pitched a gown that is somewhat sensual with plunging neck while embellishments on sheer fabric masked unnecessary exposure.
Philipp Tampus crafted a delight that banked on intricate details, fringes and lingering trail.
The Midnight Blue Collection came out next. Dexter Alazas sorted heavily embellished tent dress with shimmers embroidered on sheer material.
Edwin Alba conceived a halter confection with tiered patterns and cut out appliqués. Oj Hofer affected a classic breath of fresh air through a long sleeved frock with lace overlay. Dino Lloren made a lacy floor-sweeping gown that brags of intricate details and trappings. Wendell Quisido came up with a ruche ensemble with layered skirt, forming a charming mermaid silhouette.
But Marriott did not only host a lovely fashion show, an event fair was also held prior to that in order to put forward the hotel’s exciting packages for various significant affairs. (Cherry Claire Petiluna)
