Espina: Bruce, Cokaliong and Moya

CEBU will soon be saying goodbye to Bruce Winton, Cebu City Marriott Hotel general manager (GM), when he goes to a bigger job as GM at Resorts World. It was a fruitful term he had in Cebu as an active American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) director, and an active member of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu. Certainly, the Zonta 1 will remember our Superman in “Night at the Oscars.” I personally saw how he helped us handle two RP-US Friendship events in July, especially last year’s “Titanic at 100.”

His last sentimental hurrah was the 15th celebration of the Marriott Hotel, which he handled well. See you at Resorts World, Bruce!!
We will also miss British Consul Moya Jackson, who might take a long vacation in England, after her stint as consul is over. She was a significant participant in many of CCCI’s Tourism events, Zonta 1 and the last was the aging Rose at Amcham’s Titanic musicale. A Cebuana by choice for many years, Moya would certainly miss Cebu too. Her wit, frankness and vivacity were Moya’s trademarks. Moya, you have been a friend and we love you!
The Cokaliongs
The Cokaliong Shipping Lines launched its new vessel, its 9th Fleet M/V Filipinas Butuan. It is good to see the new generation of Cokaliongs “steering the company to higher seas.” I am extra proud to watch how Speechcom alumni (Graders group).

THREE IS COMPANY. Johnny Siao, GM Bruce Winton and Justin Uy.
Charmaine, Chase and Chesna, have transformed into pro-active professionals managing their family business with precision and commitment. Oh, how time flies! I clearly remember how they excelled in grammar and spelling and took extra miles to deliver their speaking assignments! Congratulations!
