HSBC Philippines hosted a "Client Appreciation" event at Tavolata La Trattoria de Abaca in A.S. Fortuna St. for its valued clients and friends. Playing host was Jose Arnulfo "Wick" Veloso, the first Filipino chief executive officer (CEO) of the bank in its 137 years of operation in the Philippines. He has been with HSBC for 18 years but has 26 years of capital markets experience with several other banks.

In his short message, Veloso expressed his commitment "to be more hands-on with our clients and continuously know and understand how we, at HSBC can help achieve their financial aspirations." Other bank execs present were senior vice president (SVP)/branch head Debbie Dy-Realiza, SVP/head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management Gigi Pio de Roda and SVP/head of Commercial Banking Mimi Concha.
It was a joint anniversary celebration for Georich Development Inc. (45th) and Georich Livelihood & Learning Foundation Inc. (16th) at the Sacred Heart Center. The moving spirit behind the affair was philanthropist Felisa Chiongbian, who organized a thanksgiving mass officiated by Fr. Carmelo Diola.
Tita Felisa hosted lunch for the many wellwishers who have known and admired her all these years.
Cebu regional manager of Korean Air Hyung Soo Kim played dinner host to members of the American Chamber of Commerce-Cebu chapter at the Maroo Korean Restaurant along the Maria Luisa road. It was a getting-to-know-you get-together, which was also a good opportunity for Kim to give updates on Korean Air. Among the guests were US Consular Affairs officer John Domingo and wife Maria; Ng Khai Development's Wilson Ng; and Lexmark executives Cris Burdette with wife Epiphanie and Robert Gerwig with wife Kelli.
Work is in full swing at AppleOne Banawa Heights, a 2.8 hectare property along Good Shepherd Road. It is the latest project of AppleOne Properties, which has introduced the private cluster concept in its residential layout with a maximum of only six units in a floor. According to executive vice president (EVP) Yvet Andalis, it is the first of its kind the in city.
