FRESH faces, longer strides, kinetic art. That’s what Cebu-based Wafer Models Philippines (WMP) intends to maintain being rooted in the industry for more than a decade and counting. They’re turning 14 this October and it’ll be a celebration of glitz and glamour. Fashion shows and open-to-all photography gigs are already lined up among the highlights.
Another good news from the agency is the upcoming 27th wave of models to experience Wafer’s modeling workshop and personality development.
WMP proprietor Marlon Garcia Wafer made the announcement on Tuesday during a press
conference at The Chillage in North Reclamation, Mandaue City.
The modeling clinic will begin this Sept. 8 in SM City Cebu but enrolment is extended until Sept. 14 in SM City Cebu and Sept. 26 in Parkmall.
The workshop entitles the student not just to the fundamentals of modeling but also to extra lessons such as professional poise, foot work, make up classes and live mannequin tutorials. Wafer said the latter is the latest modeling lesson introduced to the 25th batch of WMP.
Workshop graduates will be added to WMP’s band of models to be linked with agency projects and related activities.
Top WMP models include Mutya ng Pilipinas 2010 finalist and Ms. Earth Philippines candidate 2011 Aileen Dango, Ms. Earth-Tourism 2009 Kirstie Joan Babor, Ms. Earth-Fire 2007 Sarah Katrina Minoza, Ms. Teen Philippines 2004 1st runner up Nikki Taylor and Sinulog Queen festival 2013 Jamie Herrel.
Among workshop graduates who have won beauty titles are Ms. Lapu-Lapu 2011 first runner-up Esther Dorsey, Ms. Cebu 2010 first-runner Up Greza Logo and Ms. Mandaue 2010 fourth runner-up Jescel Ybanez.
Now, here’s where The Chillage comes in the picture. The people behind the modern hangout space just had a recent collaboration with WMP.
“We will be revamping by next month to emphasize our ‘eat, play, shop’ concept. The team-up with WMP is a timely coincidence. Their urban aura as a modeling agency complements what we do and vice versa. It’s a perfect partnership,” said The Chillage marketing communications Eden Villarba-Sabolboro.
