Utzurrum: Fashion highlights-A A +A

“RAINING” stunning beauty, gorgeous glamagals and bridal finery at its best, was the 2013 Face-Off Bridal Show at the Radisson Blu Cebu Hotel. In spite of the raging wet weather, a glittering gallery of fashion plates, partyphiles and the chic cocktail crowd were visible at the Sta. Maria Ballroom, the venue of this burg’s high-end affair, in partnership with the Philippine Daily Inquirer lifestyle, Look Magazine, and Samsung.
Then soft lights and sophistication marked the entry of Cebu’s and Manila’s foremost bridal couturiers: Jun Escario, Arcy Gayatin, Philip Rodriguez, Cary Santiago, Protacio Empaces, Vania Romoff, William Manahan, OJ Hofer, from Cebu; and Mike de la Rosa, Rajo Laurel, Randy Ortiz, Ivar Aseron, Albert Andrada, Edwin Ao, Vic Barba, Efren Ocampo, Dino Lloren, James Reyes, Joey Samson, Philip Tampus, and Rhett Eala—Manila.
The collection ranged from flowing gowns with trains, ruffles and pleats, intricate floral appliques, a gold and beige stunner, etc. It seems that pristine white is no longer, de riguer, for brides nowadays!
Off-ramp, or on, celebrities and newsmakers were all over. Seen were SM Hotels and Convention Corp’s president Elizabeth Sy; Chilean Ambassador Roberto Mayorga, Miss Universe finalist Janine Tugonon. And causing oohs and ahs were screen hearthrobs Sam Milby, Slater Young and Joseph Marco. Indeed the evening had raging rain outside, but reigning talent and head-turners inside.
Speaking of weather, you can create your own sunshine season, and live out your summer daze by entering the whimsical and wonderful world of Havaianas!
This is where we saw the theme “Imagination,” of “Make Your Own Havaianas” 2013 (MYOH) come alive at the SM City Northwing recently. What met our gaze were hot air balloons, with buttery-soft flip-flops a-bloom on trees, flowers, and even on the imposing 3D photo wall!
Havaianaticos (rabid fans of Havaianas) let their creativity run wild, as they mixed and matched, soles, straps and embellishments in every color and accent, with popular items being, charms, crystals, pins and top fave—the hot air balloon itself. We were attracted to Dan Matutina’s “Glow-in-the-dark” commemorative pair under dramatic black light!
Smiling at this super event of self-expression and customization were Aimil G. Sarmiento and Leanne Florendo of A.L. Amizade Marketing, exclusive sub-distributors of Havaianas in Central and Eastern Visayas. So, create your own Havaianas and you can actually bring the sun and rain into your colorful life!
