Wednesday, October 9, 2013
IN CONNECTION with the 31st anniversary celebration of “Tingog sa Lungsod,” a long-standing radio program over Bantay Radyo, and in cooperation with Cebu Breakfast ClubInc. (CBCI) and Cebu Association of Media Practitioners (Camp) Inc., the 13th awarding ceremony of The Outstanding Cebuano Award (Toca) was held at the Sacred Heart Center.
Heading the prestigious list of awardees was Gov. Hilario “Junjun” Davide III, followed by: former senator/Cebu governor and DPWH secretary Rene Espina in the field of public service; Romulo A. Aying, general services; Maria Fema T. Duterte, for environment, “Forest Protection, Preservation;” former mayor of San Francisco, Camotes, Alfredo Arquillano, for environment, “Risk Reduction.”
Dr. Stella M. Ygoña, for medicine, public health services; William Maceren, management; Cordova Barangay Captain, Rosa Marie Suan, public service barangay level; and Andy Uy and Junard Ahong Chan, both for entrepreneurship.
Executive director of the Toca engineer Greg Senining would like to thank all supporters, sponsors, and friends of Toca who, in one way or another, extended their help to make this year’s Toca highly successful and well-attended.
Extremely visible and hyperactive clubwoman Linda To is thankful to someone up there for an infinite outpouring of blessings, graces, good fortune and of course, another year of life.
In the company of close-knit family, and her horde of friends, she marked her birthday with members of her various clubs (and there are many): Cebu Garden Club, Cebu Bonsai and Cebu Suiseki Society, Hermanos y Hermanas de Zamboanga, Angel Society of Cebu, etc.
With loving hubby Nilo beside her, Linda had an enviable aura of peace and contentment, brought about, no doubt by her sharing her bounty with those who have less in life. Many more years, Linda!
