Daimler opens hub in Cebu-A A +A

DAIMLER Group Services Philippines Inc. (DGSP), a German company by the Daimler AG, hosted a business cocktail event with prime industry leaders from both Cebu and Manila, local elected officials, members of the academe and representatives from the diplomatic community as it opened its new offices in Creativo IT Building, Cebu Business Park.
The event started with the formal ribbon-cutting and inauguration. Aside from officially opening its first Philippine office and location, the event also aimed to formally launch Daimler’s presence as one of the more promising foreign locators in the province, in terms of steady business growth and consequent employment generation opportunities for skilled professionals and managers.
In the event were Honorable Hilario Davide, III, governor of the Province of Cebu, Honorable Raul del Mar, Representative of the First District of Cebu City to the House of Representatives, and Michael Hasper, Deputy Head of Mission and Charge’ d’ Affaires of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Philippines. Daimler AG was represented by senior management in the Finance and Controlling Division of the Group, Klaus Eser and Wolfgang Kumpf, as well as DGSP president and chief executive officer, Heiko Nitsche, who founded the organization in 2011.
Also present were business leaders Benedict Hernandez, concurrently Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Business Processing Association of the Philippines and President of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines, Dr. Guenter Matschuck, President of the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dr. Bodo Goerlich, who sits in the Board for both the European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines as well as GPCCI. Other noteworthy guests were members of the diplomatic community, including Christof Wegner, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Philippines, Anton Perdices, Cebu Honorary Consul of the Embassy of the Government of Spain in the Philippines, and Felix Ang, president of CATS Motors, official distributor of Mercedes Benz for the Philippines.
During the short program after the ceremony, messages and videos were given and shown to make people aware of Daimler’s presence and importance in Cebu, discussing opportunities for future growth and development. (PR/Beatrice Claudine A. Evardone, STC MassCom Intern)
