‘Into the Woods’ to benefit typhoon Yolanda victims-A A +A

CEBU Centre for Dance is doing a ballet adaptation of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s beloved Broadway Musical, Into the Woods.
Playing the lead role of Cinderella is guest artist Kris-belle Mamangun, a very accomplished dancer and choreographer. She was former principal dancer of Ballet Philippines and has performed internationally in Disneyland and Cirque de Soleil.
The stage play tells the story of the baker and his wife’s journey into the woods as they try to seek the four items to bring back to the “Witch” so she can lift the curse she put on them.
The riveting role of the “Witch” will be portrayed by guest artist Marlinda Angbetic-Tan, a veteran thespian, host and The Freeman lifestyle executive editor.
Playing the role of the “Baker” and his “Wife” are Aljous Salomon and Kaye Lani Rae Deloria respectively. Pamela Mangubat is “Red Riding Hood” while Jeff Tapang is plays the “Wolf” and Cinderella’s Prince. Rapunzel will be played by Kristina Belleza while Joer Gallur is dancing the role of Jack.
Into the Woods is co-presented by SM City Cebu and will be performed at SM Cinema 1 at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7. Tickets are available at Cebu Centre for Dance and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (Cebu IT Park, Ayala and SM City branches).
A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the victims of Yolanda. (PR)
