Green’ tree-A A +A
Saturday, December 7, 2013
THERE are three things to consider when going for a “green” tree. It’s budget-friendly, helps the environment, and it entails bragging rights for having the most unique Christmas tree in the neighborhood. Talk about hitting three birds with one stone, yeah?
So before you throw out the used soda cans, beer bottles, old magazines and unused CDs—flex those creative muscles and think of how you can transform it to a pretty addition to your tree. No need to queue in department stores to grab a box of those sparkly balls or sticks, as you yourself can make one at home.
Use old discs and cans: slice it, shape it as holiday décor, add a ribbon, and you’re all set. Another is a papier mache out of old magazines and newspapers: plaster it with old bottle caps, spray paint it with green and red, and it’s good to go.
A lot more ideas on how to make a “green” or environment-friendly tree are available online. But better yet, why not come up with your own design?
Let your ingenuity come into play and enjoy!
