WHAT an impact the full-length ballet Swan Lake had on Cebu’s balletomanes recently.
The four-night (two weekends) performance was held at Onstage Ayala Cinema One, under the artistic direction of International Danseurs Gregory Aaron and Nicolas Pacaña, partners/proprietors of Ballet Center-Cebu.
Also a vital part of the production was international ballerina and visiting teacher from Barcelona, Spain, Montserrat Forner Algado, who made sure the center’s corps de ballet was perfect in every pirouette (turns) and grand jete (split in the air).
Clearly from the onset of the performance, the audience was totally mesmerized by the beauty, romance and fluidity—like poetry in motion—of this piece, composed by Russian composer, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1876. Since then, Swan Lake has become one of the greatest classical ballets of all time.
These photos were snapped immediately after the handshakes and congratulations to the producers for the resounding success of the show!
Looking forward to next year’s Cinderella huh, Greg and Nicolas!
Indefatigable club lady Pinky Shan is almost always at the forefront regarding projects of her organization, the Quota International of Mandaue.
Recently, they sponsored a “Dental Care” symposium held at the Mandaue City Central Integrated Sped School (MCCISS), with resource speaker, dentist Dr. Jude Lumayno.
The enthusiastic kids were told, “Healthy gums and teeth make beautiful smiles.” A demonstration how to brush the teeth correctly for proper hygiene and care for the gums and teeth was also done.
And guess what? The best part was the giveaways: Toothbrushes and orange-flavored toothpaste plus delicious snacks of course!
Quotarians are a serious and responsible lot, whether at a recent meeting at Spice Fusion (at the Banilad Town Centre) or a birthday celebration at Sunburst Fried Chicken. Carry on, Quotarians, we love you!
