“FLAIR BEYOND COMPARE” is how Ayala Center Cebu (ACC) dubs its latest addition to the commercial complex, after The Terraces. This new addition completes the circle originally planned for the commercial complex by Cebu Holdings Inc. 25 years ago as “a catalyst for growth” not just for the company but also for Cebu city.
The addition had its soft opening on Dec. 11, with Ricardo Cardinal Vidal officiating at the Holy Mass that preceded the blessing of the premises. In his message at the soft opening, Antonino Aquino, president of Ayala Land Inc. and chairman of Cebu Holdings Inc., emphasized the company’s commitment in the rehabilitation of typhoon victims which, he said, will move faster forward with a vibrant economic environment which Ayala has helped to create in Cebu city, particularly with Cebu Business Park and IT Park.
The new expansion has about 36,000 square meters of commercial space and is connected with the rest of the complex and The Terraces through various walkways, in the same way that additional parking (884 slots) also connects with the rest of ACC’s basement parking area.
The first level, which has a concierge, a family lounge , a customer lounge and a gallery for various events, offers valet parking. On this level are housed premium foreign brands like Zara and Gap. The second level has fast fashion and other popular brands while the third level is mainly for IT shops as well as shops for the home and kids and yes, pets: Bow Wow can be found here, beside Healthy Options. A part of all three levels will be occupied by Rustan’s, to be opened in the first quarter of 2014, with the basement below it to be occupied by its supermarket.
The fourth level has dining places like Idea Italia (still to open), Ulli’s, which is already open , The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and Fudge all located alongside a central garden and pool walkway leading to the rest of the main ACC complex. Ulli’s. incidentally. is the latest venture of the Urbina family of Café Laguna. Also here will be a theater and tucked away in one area is a fully airconditioned chapel that can seat 300 and which will be ready for the dawn masses of the Christmas season. This structure can be divided to give way for space for special exhibits and other events.
A total of 155 shops are expected to be located in this expansion of the ACC complex.
To date, only 40 stores are open, all with “flair beyond compare,” are ready for one to explore, and they are enough to make shopping or window shopping interesting (shoes, clothes, gadgets, houseware, sports gear, and lots of Christmas gift-able items) and enjoyable.
