Give of yourself

AS THE classic Christmas song goes, “Why don’t you give love on Christmas day?” Many of us are fortunate to be part of loving families who can afford to buy presents for each other. Sadly, some people don’t have this blessing, but you can still bring them Christmas cheer. You and a group of friends can organize a party for your local orphanage, hospital or charity, and give the sick or underprivileged a Christmas they may not have been expecting.

Depending on the group’s physical ability, organize a fun program with food, games and some goody bags with small items for them to keep. If your group doesn’t have the budget to spend on a Christmas party, try holding a feeding program. You can always tap on your family and friends to donate in whatever way they can. Of course, be sure to ask permission and coordinate with someone responsible at the organization well before any activity, so that you will be guided on your logistics and planning.
