AT THE recent opening of the Franck Provost luxury salon in WellCome Hotel, Molave Street, models showed off hair and makeup forecasts for 2014.
Be inspired by these polished and modern looks, with hairstyles ranging from sleek to soft, and touches of fun color for both men and women.
Nori’s sleek, jet-black hair has full blunt bangs with long layers from the neck down. This style channels a modern Chinese empress with bold black liner on top and bottom lids, winged at the outer corners. Paired with glossy cherry red lips, the look is fierce and luxurious at the same time.
Adenais also has full blunt bangs, grazing below her eyebrows for a dramatic effect.
Her bangs and cat’s eye makeup call attention to her eyes, while her pink lipstick compliments the girliness of her curled ponytail.
Gazini’s contemporary half-up do is anything but an old-fashioned beehive, with smoothed volume on top and soft, feminine waves on the bottom. Mocha highlights bring out the texture of her waves and add dimension. Her softly smokey eyes are framed by shaped brows, and are paired with pale blush pink lips.
Aileen’s half-up do has a deep side part with soft, side-swept bangs. The style has swingy movement at the ends, with long streaks of blonde highlights. Her subtle winged black liner and frosted pink lipstick create a look that can go from cocktails to clubbing.
Kathleen’s long, layered hair gets body and movement from a blow-dry with volume. Her length and layers get an added boost from her copper highlights.
Fritzie’s dramatic look is all about her coppery, full-volume waves. Her soft smokey eyes with a thickened line on the upper lid are paired with plum lipstick that calls attention to her full pout. She pairs the look with burgundy nails, kept short and neat.
Ash’s iridescent blonde curls are sleek and shiny for a soft retro effect, a look that continues to be popular on the Hollywood red carpets.
Johan’s modern-day “prince charming” style is soft and brushed back. Ash blonde highlights add texture and volume to his longish hair.
James has a modern preppy look with side-brushed hair and burgundy highlights. This hairstyle works well for men in their 20’s to early 40’s for youthful texture and subtle color.
Kyle’s sleek brush-up has mahogany highlights. Create this texture with hair wax and some artful finger grooming.
Vin has a clean-cut hairstyle, short on the sides and with a short side sweep. The style is made less common with coppery red color.
If wanting to tweak your look for the new year, take these versatile hair and makeup looks to inspire you for the next night out, formal event or glamorous occasion.
