Maan Briones-A A +A
Saturday, January 4, 2014
Maan is on her first year of residency at a private hospital, which often means sleepless shifts lasting up to 36 hours. She doesn’t have time to exercise and to cope with the stress, she binge eats (not that anyone could tell, from her petite frame), at least when she’s not eating healthy lunches from The Lazy Chef.
The young doctor admits to being a recovering shopaholic, and is learning how to spend less and save more. She gives herself a B in finance for no longer relying on her dad for an allowance, and for having a good amount of savings left in her bank account at the end of the year.
She gave herself a C+ for her career because it’s been a year into her residency for Internal Medicine, but realized it isn’t the specialty for her. This brings her to an A for self-improvement, as she has big plans for herself: “I am straying from my original life plan and taking a detour. It’s the best and scariest decision I’ve had to make but I’ve never been happier.”
Despite her busy schedule, she finds time for the love of her life, Charles: “I’ve been getting an A for love for the past 5 years since we started going out.” The boyfriend has recently become the fiancee, and they will be married later this year. As she says, “2014 is going to be an exciting year.”
