CIVIL engineer Cedrix Dumalos married his high school sweetheart of 10 years. He and his girlfriend, Kristie Gandionco-Dumalos finally tied the knot on Dec. 26, 2013.

Suffice to say, the pair have had numerous Valentine’s Day dates already. But this year’s occasion, will be their first as a married couple.

“Now that we’re married, I hope it won’t be any different,” shared Kristie. “My husband knows that I’m a sucker for the smallest of things even if it’s as simple as a card. We still have our collection of love letters you know!”

“We have always celebrated Valentine’s with Kristie’s family because Valentine’s Day is her mom’s birthday,” explained Cedrix. “We usually go out a day before or after to avoid the traffic rush and to celebrate Valentine’s Day with her mom.”

So what is the newlywed’s plan for this year’s event?

“This year with a little one on the way we are planning to celebrate it in our new home with a simple home cooked meal that Kristie will cook—okay, I will help,” joked Cedrix. The couple like any other young couple out there, are fond foodies themselves.

“Food beats everything else. So the only difference this year is—us cooking together rather than dining out. I think that will be fun!” said Kristie.

Indeed, food tastes better when shared with a loved one.
