GENERALI Philippines Cebu financial advisors joined in the repacking of goods for the survivors of super typhoon Yolanda victims at the health center of Barangay Cogon-Ramos, Cebu City last January 31.
The advisors took advantage of the Chinese New Year holiday in doing the outreach effort. Barug Visayas organizer Percival “Valrock” Dinopol, who is also a Generali advisor, was among those who joined in the repacking efforts.
The repacking was organized by the Cebu Diocese Youth Chapter-Alumni led by Cleo Fernandez, a Generali financial advisor herself. The group members also helped in the repacking.
The goods were donated by Bayanihan Spirit from Los Angeles, California.
Fernandez said the repacked items will be distributed to the secluded areas in the northern town of Medellin, Cebu, whose residents were ravaged by Yolanda. Relief goods hardly reached these areas because of the difficult terrain.
The distribution of relief goods was initiated on Feb. 2.
The repacking of goods was the first outreach program of Generali, which is a life insurance company affiliate of BDO, for 2014.
