Neri: Bayani and Pam's Wedding

-A A +A

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

BAYANI Garcia and Pamela Calatrava were college students at Ateneo de Davao when they first met. He was a “transplant” from Cebu, eager to make new friends, while she was Davao born-and-bred, and wary of strangers. In time, the friendship developed and then blossomed into love. That was six years ago.

On the first Friday of February, Bayani and Pam were united in the sacrament of matrimony at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral with the blessings of his parents, Sun.Star Cebu chairman of the board, Atty. Jesus "Sonny" Garcia Jr. and Russian Honorary Consul Armi L. Garcia; and her Mom Cecilia Suico. For sure her late dad Atty. Marito Felix Calatrava was smiling down on them from up above.

To make that all-important day as personally meaningful to them as possible, the young couple decided to do the planning and the major arrangements themselves with a wedding planner (Shirley Ong of Wedding Prelude) taking care of the details. Their loving parents acceded to their wishes and left them on their own.

Happily, the wedding turned out exactly as they envisioned. It was beautiful and well-organized - from the pre-wedding dinner at Cebu Country Club on the eve of the big day, to the church rites officiated by Fr. Mhar Balili, down to the dinner reception at the Oakridge Pavillion. Definitely a wedding to remember!
