WILD beating of the drums by the instrumental ensemble of “Lupon Anduyo” spiced up the grand opening recently of the new Kuya J restaurant at the ground level of SM City Cebu.

The lunchtime event was a show case of what Kuya J is all about. According to Winglip K. Chang, president and chief executive officer of I Kitchen, its mother company: “We offer comfort food brought to a level that people, especially Filipinos, appreciate.

Our goal is to satisfy their desire for good food. This is why we have a special team that develops the food offering according to the quality standards of our customers.”

Kuya J has the most unique fusion of authentic Filipino dishes that have been infused with innovations to make them more surprisingly delightful. For instance, the fresh lumpia is infused with malunggay that makes it truly a very healthy food. The beef tadyang is a must try as well as the fried catfish and tortang talong. And the seafood, particularly the scallops are not to be missed. Another unique feature is the delicious dessert called ruby red with water chestnut, as well as the banana-langka turon and latik glazed budbod.

“We believe we have good products and we have the resources to create the perfect ambiance, the good service, and the ideal price factor,” Winglip Chang emphasized.

“We have a combination of everything—we're very sensitive and receptive to constructive criticisms and feedback on how we can improve. Personally, I've always believed that anything we do here is of no use if the customer walks out of the door feeling dissatisfied with the restaurant.”

Chang also revealed that another Kuya J branch will open at SM City Consolacion and three more branches at Greater Manila area.

A 220-seater restaurant, Kuya J can accommodate parties and other special occasions. For their graduation special, it offers free dessert for a minimum order of P300 that will run until April 4. (EAP)
