HEALTHY lifestyle is becoming a needed trend especially when calorie-rich fastfood are extremely accessible. Obesity is also rising in the country as one in every five Filipinos is obese.
Among the effective methods to battle obesity is the Cohen diet.
The Cohen program uses food as medicine. Instead of food becoming the source of evil, the program ensures that food helps in bringing the weight down. This allows the body to do what it’s supposed to do.
Cohen’s Lifestyle Centre started in the Philippines in 2009 in Manila by three women who have an advocacy to share healthy weight loss. In Cebu, they already opened last year in order to support clients from the Visayas-Mindanao area.
The center provides consultation to clients who are undergoing the program. This ensures higher success rates, especially if clients have someone to talk to. The consultants have also been through the program and provide assistance to clients.
Cohen gives the right support to people through individualized program with tailored eating plan.
“Cohen is not just a weight loss program, it’s really a lifestyle change,” Barbara Young, the chief executive officer of Cohen’s Lifestyle Centre in the Philippines, said.
It encourages a positive lifestyle that‘s long-lasting and for long-term.
Dr. Angela Bandola, executive director of Cohen Lifestyle Centre, said that is a health investment that people should consider.
Those who are 15 to 65 years old can join the program, especially those who want to lose at least ten pounds. However, those with certain medical conditions need to be checked first prior to the program. (ADO)
