THE Home Mutual Development Fund or popularly known as Pag-Ibig Fund urged its members to apply for a loyalty card to avail themselves of the discounts in various businesses, hospitals and shipping lines, among others.
Van Pepito of Pag-Ibig Members Services Office said that individual members can apply for the loyalty card, which has no expiry, at their office at the Cebu Business Park.
“We believe this card can help Pag-Ibig members anytime because aside from (the lack of) expiry date, more business and service sector participants are joining,” said Pepito.
Cebu is a pilot area for the program.
Discount, reward card
As a discount and reward card, Pepito said more business partners and establishments are offering discounts on the purchase of products and services.
Pepito said Trans-Asia Shipping gives 10 percent discount, while 2Go Shipping offers 20 percent discounts to card holders.
“So, if you have this loyalty card, all you have to do is present your card then you will get the discounts depending on what services you are availing of and the product you are buying,” said Victoria dela Peña, Pag-Ibig vice president for membership in the Visayas, when she guested at the 888 News Forum at Marco Polo Hotel.
As a provident fund, Pag-Ibig is advocating savings and the loyalty card is one way that active members can save.
“Loyalty card is one way of reducing expenses and savings for our future needs,” said Pepito.
Cebu, Baguio and Davao are the pilot areas for the loyalty card, which took effect last March 31.
It will be officially launched in Cebu anytime soon, but it won’t be available in the rest of the country until later this year.
