CSJ sets ‘Kahayag Forum’ on Aug. 6-A A +A

THE Congregations of Saint John (CSJ), a Catholic community of brothers, apostolic sisters and secular members, will host an open discourse, Kahayag (Cebuano term for “light”) Forum, with the theme, “In Search for the Meaning of Life,” at the Sacred Heart Center–Convention Hall, D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 1-8 p.m.
The forum aims to share the philosophical and theological heritage from the founder, Fr. Mari-Dominique Philippe, O.P., at the service of the New Evangelization in Cebu.
It also aims to engage in a dialogue with contemporary Filipino society, particularly professionals, employees, educators, senior and graduate students, and intellectuals who may or may not be involved in the Catholic Church.
Important components of the forum will include conferences on: Finding Fulfillment: Challenges Today, with Fr. John Gabriel Goupil de Bouille, CSJ, dean of philosophy, Congregation of Saint John, Lyon, France; My Personal Search for the Meaning of Life, with Executive Judge Simeon Dumdum Jr. in Cebu City and an accomplished poet; Synopsis and Future Outlook, with Fr. Goupil De Bouille as speaker.
Fr. Justin Lee, CSJ, will serve as the moderator in an open floor panel discussion by the speakers and some invited representatives from Cebu City.
The event will also include some cultural presentations and exhibits, and will end with a Holy Eucharist to be celebrated by Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma.
