THE Jayne Howard Feldman, an interfaith minister, Reiki Master and Life Coach, has this idea of celebrating Aug. 22 as “Be an Angel Day.”

It is “all about making the world a better place through acts of kindness, care and support. Put others before yourself and reach out to help those in need.”

The celebration of National “Be an Angel Day” also reminds us that if we are benefiting from someone’s angelic care, we should not forget to give thanks. So, to all the angels in our lives, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We asked some youngsters what they would do if they were to be an angel for a day and they all seem to know that to be an angel is to be kindness and care personified.

“If I were an angel for a day, I would share my wings to lift you up if you’re feeling down or empty.” – Cheska Katrina Galang, 14 years old,
Grade 9, Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus

“If I will be an angel for a day. I will tell God to help the typhoon and earthquake victims. I will ask the criminals not to go on doing wrong. I will guide kids in studying their lessons. All these to make the world a better place.” – Iñigo Noel C. Rubia, 8 years old, Grade II, Sacred Heart
School-Ateneo de Cebu

“I would shout and thank God for giving me the chance to be an angel even for just a day. Having wings will give me the chance to fly high and travel. But then, because of our catastrophes, I would rather help people who are homeless and need food to eat. I will also help them spiritually by giving them strength and hope to live in God’s grace.” – Jeremiah A.Deniega, 14 years old, Grade 8, University of San Jose-Recoletos

“If I were an angel for a day, I would watch over Mama, Papa and my sisters.” – Joaquin Vergara, 6 years old, Primary 1, Singapore School Cebu

“If I were an angel for a day, I will help everyone who needs help. I would cheer up the ones who are sad, I would take care of the ones who are sick. I will listen and talk to the ones who are lonely. I would be happy to be an angel for a day!” – Arwen Marie A. Tobes, 10 years old, Grade 4, Colegio del Santo Nino

“If I were an angel for a day, I will help the poor children by playing with them and making them happy. I will make them feel that the world is a better place to live in. – Adrienne Louise C. Yumul, 9 years old, Grade 4, St. Theresa’s College
