BIRTHDAY CELEBRANT. Judge (ret.) Esperanza Garcia and husband, former Cebu governor and 3rd district congressman Pablo Garcia during her birthday lunch at the penthouse of the Cebu CFI Bldg. with daughters Dierdre, Rep.Gwen and Farla, and son, Dumanjug Mayor Nelson G.

Judge (retired) Esperanza Fiel Garcia, founder of the Court of First Instance Community Cooperative (CFI Coop), was all smiles as she and her family led by former Cebu governor and congressman Pablo Garcia welcomed well-wishers at the Penthouse of the Cebu CFI Coop Bldg. on her 81st birthday. The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass followed by a sumptuous lunch highlighted by musical numbers from the CFI staff. Tributes for the soft-spoken and unassuming celebrant were a-plenty during the program. She put up the CFI Coop simply to help the court employees, not expecting that it would become as big and as successful as it is today. Hard work and her never-say-die attitude even when times were difficult did it all. Indeed Judge Esperanza Garcia deserves all the glowing tributes!

His dad Conrad Bascon is proudly Cebuano while mom Theresa Jallorina is from Manila. Giving their all-out support during the preparations for the concert were Mr. and Mrs. Rene Villamor who used to be their neighbor in California but who have now settled here in Amara in Liloan.

The five years just flew for the A-List duo of Cybill Gayatin and Kaye Luym Sala who have been super busy organizing top rated events since 2009. To mark their fifth year in the business, the energetic twosome invited media friends to an appreciation dinner at Laguna Garden Cafe with “good eats, lots of laugh and a game of trivia.” Yes, it was a fun evening.
A week or so later, Kaye and Cybill introduced some of us to the team from 32 Sanson by Rockewell over lunch at Tavolata. We met Rockwell Land sales director for Cebu Crystal Ozamis, broker network manager Kei Burden, and project manager Chris Gecha. They talked about the soon-to-be launched 3rd tower of 32 Sanson.

The Emerald girls of St. Theresa’s College (High School 1959) were always on the go during the homecoming week. One day they were up the hills of Balamban with Rosie Veloso Binghay playing lunch host; another day they had a beach outing at Be Resort, and on the Sunday before they said their goodbyes, they were lunch guests of Anabelle Corn Luym at the Grand Convention Center. Finale was a merienda-cena in Amara, Liloan hosted by Elma Garcia Muangkroot.
