It was reported on TV5, with a video showing proof of the matter, that Derek Ramsay took the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS ice bucket challenge. After being doused with a bucket of cold water with ice cubes on Aug. 23, Derek challenged Kris Aquino to follow suit.

In the Aug. 24 episode of The Buzz, the TV host-actress let herself be doused with ice-cold water on live television.

She nominated Kris TV writer Darla Sauler, Umagang Kay Ganda co-host Anthony Taberna, and It’s Showtime co-host Vice Ganda to do the ice bucket challenge.

The ALS ice bucket challenge, which has taken social media by storm, aims to raise awareness about the ailment, according to Mayo Clinic.

Those who are nominated to do the challenge can either post video of themselves being doused with ice cold water or donate $100 for ALS research. Most celebrities who do the challenge do both.

Secretary Leila de Lima took the “bucket” dare on Aug. 26. She then nominated Yolanda Rehabilitation Czar Panfilo Lacson, Davao City Mayor Rodgrigo Duterte and Rep. Niel Tupas Jr. to take the challenge.

Other daring celebrities who have done the challenge include Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Anne Curtis, Angel Locsin and Aga Muhlach.
