BC team brings home the bacon-A A +A

THE Benedicto College (BC) culinary students team were the happy recipients of the prizes offered by Julie’s Bakeshop to the winners of the Julie’s Chief Baker Show, student edition. The turn-over ceremony took place recently at the BC Artist Hall.
The BC team of Ralph Lambo, Tricia Hopia and Christina Zapatalo, with coach Dave Ponce came up with the winning concoction: a sweetish bread topped with a slice of caramelized banana, mango slices, ube jam and diced jelly. The group called their winning concoction as Pinas Pride.
For prizes, the winning group received a kitchen showcase worth two hundred thousand pesos, eighty thousand pesos in cash prize, an International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCHAM) scholarship worth P120,000 and P10,000 from General Milling Corporation.
The Julie’s Chief Baker Show, student edition, was a reality TV show which had 13 episodes, with student participants from Asian College of Technology, Benedicto College, Cebu Eastern College, Cebu Institute of Technology University, Cebu Mary Immaculate College Inc., Cebu Technological University, Danao and San Francisco, Camotes, International School of Hotel And Restaurant Management, University of Cebu METC Seacast, and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation.
Present at the turn-over of prizes ceremony were Julie Bakeshop’s Espie Jingco and Meggie Jose, ISCHAM’s chef Sean Mesovanney, and Benedicto College’s Lilian Benedicto Juan, James Toledo, Gladys Gajudo and the winning team of Lambo, Hopia, Zapatalo with their coach, Dave Ponce.
